Dr. (Mrs) Kemi Ogunyemi 

Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Health, Dr. (Mrs.) Kemi Ogunyemi, has emerged as Secretary, Health Sector Mobilization I, on the 223-member All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections. Her appointment places her among key political actors charged with coordinating the party’s engagement and mobilization within the health sector as the APC begins preparations for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The council, inaugurated as the party intensifies its preparations for the 2027 elections, brings together senior party leaders, governors and prominent political figures across sectors and constituencies. President Tinubu will chair the council, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, serving as Vice Chairmen I and II, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, is Director-General and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, Secretary.

In the health sector, Ogunyemi will serve alongside Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, who is Director, Health Sector Mobilisation; Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, Deputy Director I; Fama Zahra Yola, Deputy Director II; and Hajiya Laila Buhari, Secretary II. Her emergence underscores the strategic importance being attached to the health sector in the APC’s broader campaign structure, particularly as healthcare delivery, social protection and human capital development remain critical issues in the political conversation ahead of 2027.

President Tinubu charged members to work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC, urging directorate leaders to also reach out to party members not formally listed in the council. The President said the administration had delivered on its campaign promises and placed Nigeria on a path of economic progress, charging the campaign team to highlight its achievements and inspire confidence among Nigerians as the country moves into the 2027 election season.
