Paris Saint-Germain have signed Spain forward, Ferran Torres, from Barcelona for a reported fee of €50m (£42.7m).

The 26-year-old has signed a contract with the French champions until 2031, completing his move after a strong season with Barcelona.

Torres scored 21 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions last season and provided three assists as Barcelona won the La Liga title.

Torres also played a key role in Spain’s World Cup triumph last month, scoring the extra-time winner against Argentina as La Roja secured their second men’s World Cup title.

His performances had attracted significant attention before the tournament, with PSG moving to secure his services as they strengthen their attack.

PSG are managed by former Barcelona player and coach Luis Enrique, who handed Torres his Spain debut during his time as national team manager.

The French club have won the Champions League in each of the past two seasons and added another trophy to their collection on Wednesday by beating Aston Villa 2-1 in the UEFA Super Cup.

Torres joined Barcelona in 2022 after spending two years at Manchester City.

He scored 25 goals in 65 appearances for Spain and established himself as an important member of the national team.

He becomes the second high-profile forward to join PSG this summer after the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco.

PSG could also lose forward Bradley Barcola this summer, with Liverpool interested in signing the France international.
