An ambulance driver reportedly died after becoming trapped in traffic while transporting a patient in Lagos State, according to eyewitnesses.

Witnesses said the traffic eventually cleared, but the ambulance remained stationary. Concerned motorists reportedly approached the vehicle and found the driver unresponsive inside. The ambulance was said to belong to Swift Med Hospital, although the driver’s identity and the vehicle’s ownership have not been independently confirmed.

The incident happened this morning, Friday 18th September 2026.

As of the time of filing this report, the reported cause of the driver’s death remained unknown, while authorities had yet to publicly confirm the incident.
