In an Instagram post on Thursday, the actress said Akindele called her unexpectedly and subsequently donated money toward her treatment.
“The first call I got this morning was from Funke. Was really surprised cos I wasn’t expecting it,” she said.
“Chaiiiii God is just too good to me ooooo. My wonderful people ẹ jọ̀ọ́ ẹ ba mi dúpẹ́ gan ni.
“Pls help me pray for @funkejenifaakindele for blessing me this morning towards my cancer treatment, she gave me huge amount of money ni o haaaaa mi o expect ẹ oooooooo.”
Ogundimu also prayed for Akindele, whom she referred to as “Iya ibeji”.
“Iya ibeji God will never forsake you lailai, oni ri ogun aisan loruko Jesu. Aanu a ma wa ẹ ri ni gbogbo ona,” she added.
“You will forever continue to grow from strength to strength, ipa aye koni ka ẹ o. Modupe gan ni o mo mọ loore.”
The actress’ appeal comes amid a string of reports of Nigerian movie stars battling or dying from cancer.
Actress Destiny Etiko launched a campaign on behalf of her colleague Ikechukwu Nweke, who, on July 10, disclosed that he is battling colon cancer. She also revealed that donations have reached over N13 million.
Similarly, actress Cynthia Anijekwu received over N13 million in donations following her public plea on July 6 for financial support for her cancer treatment.
