Shaheed Toyinbo, popularly known as Alfa Sunnah, has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after failing to meet the bail conditions granted by the court.
Toyinbo was remanded on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, and will remain in custody pending the next adjourned date on November 4, 2026.
But the bail conditions are not ordinary.
According to the reported conditions, Alfa Sunnah is required to produce a Baale whose chieftaincy title is recognised by the Lagos State Government, with evidence of ownership of both land and a house in Lagos, backed by a valid Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).
He is also required to provide a ₦3 million deposit through a biological relative who must be a Lagos State Government employee on Grade Level 12 or above.
The relative must also have been contributing to LASRRA for at least one year and possess a valid tax clearance certificate.
And the requirements do not end there.
The relative’s employment confirmation letter must be signed by the Permanent Secretary or another duly authorised official, confirming that the person is genuinely employed by the Lagos State Government.
With the stipulated conditions yet to be fulfilled, the court ordered that Alfa Sunnah remain behind bars at Kirikiri until November 4, 2026, when the matter is expected to come up again.
The question now is: can the bail conditions be met before the next court date?
